in view in the draft Ordinance
then introduced was to make better.
provision for the punishment of Piracy. I think the Ordinance with amendments
now
in the shape in which I have drawn it in accordance with what I understand to be the intention of the despatches will promote that object. The Chief Justice who has to administer the law to which it relates appears be of opinion that it will be useful.
Beyond this I Know of no
